Meet our Litigation Law Clerk, Maiyanna Allen! Maiyanna was born in Easton, Maryland and is a proud Mountaineer of West Virginia University. She relocated to Orlando for law school and attends Florida A&M University College of Law graduating in May 2021.
At FAMU, Maiyanna is a part of the Student Bar Association, National Bar Association, and is a Themis Representative. She also holds the position as the Florida's Association of Women Lawyer representative to the state of Florida!
Maiyanna greatly enjoys spending her free time either hosting dinner parties, Facetiming friends, or flying to new destinations. Back home in Maryland, she spends most of her time visiting her God-daughter, Yara, or her boston terriers, Blue and Biscuit. She plans to move to Baltimore, Maryland and invest in real estate.
Working at the Coye Law Firm has provided Maiyanna with an opportunity to learn more about the litigation process and gain valuable experience for when she plans on becoming an attorney herself.
When asked why she is inspired to become an attorney, Maiyanna said, "Fictional characters, such as Maxine Shaw, gave me the inspiration to pursue a career in law; however, my journey in law school has led me to pursue a career in Energy law. Energy law will allow me to explore the world, while also confronting environmental injustice that affects communities around the world."
It's great to have you on the team, Maiyanna!
