This weekend a few members of the Coye Law Firm team had the opportunity to participate in the Wills for Heroes event! This event begins preparations months in advance to ensure a large and successful turnout. Wills for Heroes provides essential legal documents free of charge to our nation's first responders. By helping first responders plan now, they ensure their family's legal affairs are in order before a tragedy hits.

At the event members of the Young Lawyers Section, along with volunteers from the Orange County Bar Association's Estate, Guardianship & Trust Committee and others, help attendees create a Last Will and Testament, a Living Will and a Durable Power of Attorney.

Attendees are also offered breakfast, snacks, or lunch depending on the time of day. This year's event was held at the Orange County Legal Court Reporting office. Our team members Amber, Stephanie, Marchella, Jamorie, Cheyenne, Mary Kate, and Juliannaall volunteered their services to help out. Our attorneys Amber and Stephanie drafted the wills for the participants while our other volunteers helped with witnessing and notarizing.

Amber did an amazing job of participating and also coordinating the entire event! We are so grateful to have been apart of such a rewarding program and to have been able to assist so many first responders. The Coye Law Firm team looks forward to continuing our participation and relationship with Wills for Heroes. Check out our video for a glimpse into the event!
