Hurricane Tip: How to avoid losing thousands of dollars in damage
First off, if you are in Florida right now I hope you and your family stay safe over the weekend.
During hurricane season, many people worry about possible damage to their property due to high winds and heavy rain.
But their is one crucial thing people forget to do while refreshing their hurricane prep kits:
Take pictures and videos of your property and valuables BEFORE the storm hits.
It is also crucial to know where your insurance policy is located and to know your coverage.
Here's your checklist:
- Take photos or video of the inside and outside of your house.
- Take photos or video of other valuables as well, such as your car, large electronics, etc.
- Locate your insurance policy and take a photo of that as well.
- Save your photos to the "Cloud" (directions below)
It is very important that those photos are not just saved on your phone, but also saved in the "cloud," such as iCloud or Dropbox.
